California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized attempts to prevent former President Trump from being listed on the California ballot, arguing that such actions are against democratic principles. “In California, we defeat candidates at the polls. Everything else is a political distraction.” Trump had been barred from appearing on Colorado’s Republican primary ballot earlier this week, following a decision by the state’s Supreme Court. This decision is currently on hold while awaiting a definitive verdict from the Supreme Court.
