First, imagine that your country has been internationally declared a battlefield without your knowledge.
Second, imagine that two groups of mercenaries have been hired to fight on this battlefield and you are stuck in the middle as an “undeclared” person.
Third, imagine that both sides in this secret “war” are intent on impersonating you as someone from the other side, so as to justify mistreating and abusing you and stealing your property.
Fourth, imagine that one side in this secret mercenary war is funded by communists, and the other side is funded by capitalists. And you are neither one.
Fifth, imagine that all of this is grossly illegal and against international law, but it proved so profitable that the Principals responsible continued it for 160 years. And since you didn’t know anything about it, you didn’t object.

Sixth, imagine that all this has been discovered and that the Principals responsible — on all sides — are being brought to task for it.
