I was born November 19 1950 @11:42 in the evening. My parents from my first memory taught me to be honest respectful and treat all life with dignity. They taught me to be proud that I was an American. Respect my elders and value family. Do unto others as you would have them do to you. They taught me to love my country. In school every day we resisted the pledge of allegiance and said a morning prayer. I learned the history of our country I leaned the hardships of our four fathers and the sacrifices they made to give us the the freedom we enjoyed.
I lived through the civil rights movement and was appalled at what I saw on tv I was confused the way peoples were being treated I grew up in a racially mixed neighborhood and when your a child you only see people not color I believe color is taught you you could walk the streets and be safe we experienced life as a joy we had opportunity to become what ever we desired all we had to do was work for it you could support a family on one income what you achieved in life the sky was the limit the one plegging thing that I saw was one war after another and slowly and steadily America went down hill the decline was gradual and most people didn’t see it that America I grew up in no longer existed it was hone “Gone with the wind“ how I long for those days just to be happy and care free.
