I remembered what Tony de Mello said about “Enlightenment”.
An audience member asked Tony on break; “Aye you enlightened?”
Tony’s first answer was; “How would I know?” (Recovering Narcissist answer)
His answer to the audience was; “What does it matter?” (Enlightened answer)

What I think Tony was conveying is; when we make enlightenment a goal, we are practicing Narcissism (me, me, me, mine, mine, mine).
Landmark; “Be, Do, Have” – we are enlightened by BEING, not by HAVING.
Narcissists are committed to having (Greed / Selfish).
When we HAVE as a result of BEING, we are enlightened. What we have is gifted to us for our being. (Positive Karma)
All we get from enlightenment is enlightenment. Narcissists give us ridicule, scorn, and rejection.
Born of the flesh = Narcissist
Born of the spirit = Enlightened
