Fortress mentality (see also “siege mentality” or “bunker mentality”): when a group(s) feels they are under attack and thus refuse to listen to criticism or views that do not fit their own position or aims. Results in black and white thinking, conformity, lack of trust, often also to preparedness for the worst case scenario while not attending to and / or considering other possible or interim scenarios.
