CONCEPT REMINDER “Ides” possibly derived from Latin iduare, which means “to divide.” Word possibly of Etruscan origin, per some.

The “Ides of March” occurs annually on 15 March of the old Roman calendar. It served asa marker of the full Moon that represented the beginning of a New Year (months of January and February added later on Julian Calendar under Julius Caesar). Romans considered “the Ides” to be time to settle interests and debts.

“English use of the Roman calendrical term always employs the Romans’ inclusive dating, including the ides itself when counting. Thus, the ‘third day before the ides of March’ (a.d. iii Id. Mart.) is March 13th: two days before March 15th, not three.” Source: [Useful info for Biblically-inclined interpreters] See also:

“Beware the Ides of March!”, from play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, served to create an air of mystery about the idea.
Fun Fact: was the first internet domain name registered on 15 March 1985 (Gregorian).

Two Anagrams of Ides: Side, Dies

In 2023, the Ides of March of the Julian Calendar falls on 28 March of modern

Gregorian calendar.
