16 Dec 1985, Manhattan, NY: Reflecting upon the assassination at Sparks Steak House. Like most of the general public, was stunned by this mob on mob hit. Suggest it may be better understood in the light (or dark) of events that happened well over a decade prior. Well-known five families then were: Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese, and Lucchese. I believe much more research is needed to gain the broader context, of which this event was but a symptom.
Important because may have current relevance. Some families were hoodwinked by those purporting to include them in their larger multi-decade plans; the fallout from which not only the Big Apple, but our entire American republic, today continues to struggle against to survive. Greater clarification would, at the least, consider historic genetic orientational preferences of those by whom they thought they’d been accepted. What were they really trying to accomplish? Odd twist, these families were actually preyed upon by predators of power beyond their then imaginings.
