I can appreciate the opportunity we have in this country about freedom of speech and we are able to express our beliefs and take the time to research and share our knowledge. However, it’s always good when we take the time to express our knowledge and opinions and not make it a fact sounding assumption. We have to acknowledge that not everyone will agree with the information disclosed by others. I definitely do not agree with the assumptions that ALL police are of the same mindset, and are in the business for self promotion and service for political or social status, and to use there positions to bully and harm the public.
I know of several police officers both sheriffs and state police officers that go into the public service to protect and defend the public and the implementation of the laws of the land. More than once have I seen and heard of police being killed to protect the people in the community. They sacrifice everyone for a stranger or child in need. They are not segregating people in anyway. They can not be bought or temped to turn a blind eye for favors. Not all police are bad and that should be considered before lumping them all together. Anyone that does that in my opinion is closed minded and prejudice and needs to remember that just because your research points to a gangster mentality towards police, that does not mean that it is the overwhelming thoughts of the public. To many times people take the side of a negative role in believing all or none.
The police services are a public service. For the most part, they are the backbone to prevent undo pain and suffering to innocent people and children. We would miss them if they weren’t there to call. It’s been the government that controls the police ability to what they can do and not do. Some police do what is right and suffer the consequences later. To save a business or life in a sacrificial way for the public. Most definitely there are those that are bullies and self serve and can be bought to look the other way, but that is seen in a lot of jobs and within our government.
I would appreciate everyone looking at the position as a dangerous job and they chose to do it, not for the pay, but to protect and serve their community. Those people that want no policing and have only negative views for our police should step up and serve in the capacity that the police do everyday before you make any judgments. Put yourself in their shoes first, then make the choice to judge them. Ask yourself what you are doing to protect and serve your community to make it better and safer. If we didn’t have police would miss them.
