I can imagine how empowering it is to be a pastor, reverend, preacher… who has the opportunity to prepare a sermon each week. How does he use his own life’s experience in conjunction with Biblical teachings to write a presentation that will exhort, uplift, inspire a Church full of people.
It’s a very creative exercise one must engage in. Those people need the connections to help them tackle another week’s problems.
I am personally, always battling my own cynicism.
To be clear, I see my clever eye for finding the BS in the phoniness a skill… But I constantly torment myself over, am I right… Did I go too far? Did I call into question something that doesn’t completely deserve it. All the shades of gray when wanting light… and did I bring that cloud over the sun? And who the hell am I to say anything?
Kim and Tank and their efforts is a regular wrestling match with my own soul. On the surface they appear much more hopeful an option than the rest of the garbage people who run child trafficking and foment war… Is that fact alone not worth just having some faith?
I say this for me, no one else. I have friends whose intense negativity does not affect me. I’m just glad I have friends. I never tell them, you are way too negative. I just let them rant. It is just them.
I do need to figure out what I want to achieve personally though.
It’s my burden.
