Breaking: Biden Escalates Tensions in the Mid-East With Uncongressionaly Approved Air Strikes in Iraq and Syria

Twenty years and thousands of deaths later former President Donald Trump said enough is enough. He ordered the systematic withdrawal of US troops from every stinking mountaintop and desert in the Middle East. The nation breathed a sigh of relief at the thought of finally leaving the entire region to wallow in their own mud. It took Trump to simply admit what everyone outside of politics already knew. There was no way to win. Then along came Joe…

From one side of Biden’s forked tongue, he publically stated how he was planning on bringing the troops home anyway, but this was only said to steal Trump’s still booming thunder. The opposite fork just called in a U.S. military airstrike that could have enormous consequences since it involved Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Super-Joe stirred all three anthills with a single shot.

The U.S. military was directed to seek and destroy “operational and weapons storage facilities” located on both sides of the Iraq/Syria border. Two of Iran’s most notorious militia groups, Kata’ib Hezbollah (KH) and Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS), along with a hodgepodge of smaller terrorist factions, are kinda-sorta pissed.

We’ve come to understand the strikes were ordered in direct response to the Iran-backed militias attacking U.S. troops and facilities in Iraq via sophisticated drones. Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said in a press release, “As demonstrated by this evening’s strikes, President Biden has been clear that he will act to protect U.S. personnel. The strikes were both necessary to address the threat and appropriately limited in scope.”

The Pentagon wanted to carry out the strikes in early May but Biden thought it was still too premature to rock the boat. He obviously tired of their hawkish whining.

Pentagon spokesperson Commander Jessica McNulty said, “We always reserve the right to respond at a time and place of our choosing to protect and defend our people; today was the right moment to act. The President determined that taking this action would protect U.S. personnel and that these strikes were both necessary to address the threat and appropriately limited in scope.”

It’s uncanny how McNulty and Kirby used some of the exact terminology. One might tend to think they rehearsed…

McNulty continued, “The strikes were necessary, appropriate, and deliberate action designed to limit the risk of escalation. Through these and other means, we seek to make clear to Iran and Iran-backed militia groups that there will be serious consequences if they continue to attack, or to arm, fund, and train militia groups that attack our people. We will take necessary and appropriate measures to defend U.S. personnel, partners, and allies in the region.”

It isn’t like Biden hasn’t been previously warned. He was dipping his toes in the sand back in February to see how far he could take things without being noticed. One of his own party members, Democratic California Rep. Ro Khanna, caught wind of it, so as is a politician’s habit, she began keying in a fiery tweet. “We ran on ending war, not escalating conflicts in the Middle East. Our foreign policy needs to be rooted in diplomacy & the rule of law, not retaliatory airstrikes without Congressional authorization.”

The better solution would be to bring all remaining U.S. troops in the region home, pronto. Blow up the equipment so it can’t be used, put ’em all on a U.S.-bound troop transport, and call it two decades. We were poised to do this exact thing under Trump’s leadership, but then came Joe.

Stay tuned for more to follow on this breaking pile of rubbish.
