Freedom Just Six Feet Apart

You came in like a winter breeze
six feet apart and
without touching I then sprung forward as
I realized what aloneness was once again
I went outside to feel the wind
it slapped me on the face yet
my eyes couldn’t believe what i was seeing
six feet apart
I watched you cover your mouth
I even saw you cover your
innocent child’s smile that
used to shine like the sun and
I cried out “where are their rights”
I got silenced
and oh, they were only
six feet apart
Then the clouds came in
all dark and grey
no bird songs anywhere
No sounds of little children laughing
we allowed ‘them’ to drown it out
everything that is sacred
what makes you and me
they did it just by keeping us
six feet apart
you allowed them to
steal the truth with their lies
while my heart aches for you and I pondered
How is it that you do not see the obvious
that you are their pawn
I am left all alone still
Awake and aware
can you hear the Silence
it’s All around us
I speak yet no one hears
you are never too near yet
you are just
six feet apart
Listen now and just Hold the line
I hear the freedom bell
ringing in on the horizon
I see they are coming fast
perhaps you’ll listen now
for I promise to ring it loud
not Just for you but for this earth and
all God’s people’s who will be woken and
will finally see the truth
that six feet apart
is their disguise and
you are their sheep
so quiet and obedient
Yet I know without a doubt
they will surely slaughter
all the silent ones
who are just
six feet apart
