Steve Beckow: We Need a New Game

The old game, which we’ve allowed to play out again and again is based on two paradigms. The first is empirical materialism, which says that only what we can physically sense is real. You can see that spirituality goes out the window.

The second is social Darwinism, or the law of the jungle. It holds that resources are scarce and life becomes a struggle for existence in which only the strongest survive. (1)

These two paradigms have never served the mass of humanity; only the elite prosper, as we now see.

We need new paradigms.  We need new games. Here I’d like to look at two new games.

Let me illustrate one of them that I learned from the growth movement – the game of awareness. Most of this article will be on that.

In the course of it, I’ll arrive at a second game – a world game created by Buckminster Fuller and Werner Erhard: Creating a world that works for everyone. I’ll simply introduce that here and look at it in more depth in another article.

The only rule in the game of awareness is that you remain aware of yourself and share what you see when appropriate.

The last operation in our individuated life is one of awareness, Self-Recognition, or Self-Knowledge (“O Thou I!”). (2) Let me illustrate that game – the awareness game – by taking myself and looking at my relationship to peace.

I’m going to sit down right now and write …. Wait, I’ve run out of cream. Darn. Hmmm… Where did I put my glasses. How do I stop my screen from getting bigger and smaller on its own? How frustrating it all is.

My everyday circumstances furnish me with enough challenges to the unruffled kind of peace.

And then I hear again something Michael said to me in only our second reading of ten years of them:

Archangel Michael: “Your job is to participate and to lead in a worldwide peaceful revolution, for peace the time is now. …

“And we do not mean an absence of war. We mean the presence of peace as you have been describing it.” (3)

As a future CEO of humanitarian enterprises, I’m working on leadership. I was the youngest of two so I more or less spent my life as an aide de camp, rather than a leader. I awaited the decision and then got to work.

But I’m open. As long as my contribution is in writing because writing is what I love to do.

But it’s the second comment that I really want to discuss:  “We do not mean an absence of war. We mean the presence of peace as you have been describing it.”

Yes, I know precisely what he’s talking about here. Having a soul contract to write about these matters, I get an unusual number of spiritual experiences to write about. (4) And one of them was an experience of peace not just as external quiet, but as an internal, experienced state of consciousness.

You pay me to write about these experiences, given that they highlight a path, whether we take them or not, do you not?  Hopefully this discussion triggers insights for you as well.

The awareness path is my chosen path overall, (5) but this lifetime I’m also following the path of karma yoga or service.

The experience of peace I referred to above happened while I was meditating, as I relate here:

“I felt as if I were on a train, watching it slowly leave the station and looking at the faces as they passed by. I suddenly saw a red-headed man [St. Germaine?] who had a remarkable composure to him. I was struck by it on a spiritual level and took a mental snapshot.

“As soon as the man was recognized, it was as if he shot out an energetic dart at me. A bond was made.  And I said to myself: “I know this depth of peace that this man has shown me. It’s the Natural Self.”

“Immediately I found myself sinking into a deep, deep sense of peace, way down deep. I ended up in a place that was absolutely solid. It was as if I were standing on a slab of granite.” (6)

Michael later called the experience “interdimensional travelling.” (7)

Since peace is a divine quality, and hence of a much higher vibration than we normally resonate with or at, we have no language to describe it. Just as we have no language to describe higher-dimensional love, so here, too, we can only talk about its impact on us.

I experienced peace in two phases. The first held as long as I retained the consciousness that “I am my body.” As long as I identified with my body, my experience of peace was like standing on granite, sure of my ground, not needing anything.

Michael used the word “granite” to talk about peace twice during this time. (8)

And then I remembered my out-of-body experience in 1977 (9) and that I was not this body and the experience of peace shifted to a softer, gentler space.

Remembering that I experienced my own purity and innocence at Xenia on Sept. 18, 2018, (10) let me bring that in here to say that in the first phase of peace – standing on granite, sure of my footing, stand, stance, etc. – I could have chosen a military career.

In the second phase of peace, an active life, it would have been almost out of the question.  I think we call the second kind of person a “contemplative.” That word describes me this lifetime.

I’m feeling peaceful at the moment, with just wisps of bliss. But they are different. I’m choosing to remain in peace and not be uplifted by bliss, surrendering to the experience of the former for the time being.

I have no worries. Nothing is tugging on me.

OK, I got it. I’ve just had a minor realization, an Aha! or transformational moment. This peace is the space in which the divine qualities show up for me.  This is a foundational space, returning me to my original purity and innocence.

Love is showing up now.

Peace is s like the floor in the Baskin Robbins Shoppe of Love. Now, well-seated and prepared, I order my cone from one of the flavors of Love and enjoy it.

Yes, that’s the relationship between peace and the other divine qualities: Peace is foundational.

OK, you’ve just heard me following the path of awareness to an experience of peace, which I remained with until it revealed something of itself: It’s a floor for the other divine states to appear on. A dance of love, joy, bliss, etc., happens on a dance floor of peace.

I’ve shifted from minding anyone else’s business to minding only my own. What a contribution to world peace that is!

And awareness fits with our accepted spiritual practices: If we seek peace, we first seek the quiet and stillness of bare awareness as the pre-requisite to the other experiences. The attainment of peace is not normally sought or found amid the guns of war.

Finally, world peace is mandated by GESARA (the Global Economic Security and Reformation Act).  (11) The rising vibrations guarantee it. I write this to make sure we’re aware of it and how it will come regardless of any other factor.

So we know where we’re headed: Global prosperity and world peace in a world that works for everyone.

For me, that is the new global game. (12)

(12) Global prosperity and world peace are the answer to social Darwinism.  The law of the jungle does not prevail in the end.

Buckminster Fuller invented a “world game” around the idea of a world that works for all:

Werner Erhard called it “a world that works for everyone” and made it a vision shared by millions in his est Trainings.
