Canada is western parliamentary democracy with a representative government grounded in Judeo-Christian philosophy, the rule of law, and religious freedom.
Canadians have some quaint notions embedded in their DNA.
What do I think defines a Canadian?
Things like:
1. Men and women are equal.
2. One person, one vote.
3. Freedom of speech.
4. Freedom of the press.
5. Freedom of assembly.
6. The right to dissent.
7. The supremacy of secular law.
8. Separation of church and state.
9. Religious tolerance.
I believe that the Trump Presidency has brought Canadians more closely together. Canada is united against a common enemy (and not for the first time in history).
And the entire world is hoping that President Trump’s imperial rule will unite Americans around those things that bind Americans. Fear, hatred and bigotry are not among those things.
Canada is not a country that hates immigrants more than p********s.
