The “democratic” façade of the Deep State.

Politics has always been the Deep State’s favorite theater. Not because it really matters… but because it has to look like it matters.

The parties? Different colors, different programs, different slogans… but the matrix is the same. A rotation of faces that alternate while the central system — the real one — never changes.

The illusion of choice.
The oldest trick in the book.

The Parties: the same coin with different logos

For decades we have seen the same pattern:

• everyone argues on TV,
• everyone spreads propaganda,
• everyone promises revolutions,
• and then, once in government,
• they follow the system’s line.

Because parties serve only one purpose:

• to channel dissent and bring it back into the fold.

The Control Center: the Prefectures

Neither mayors nor governors have real power over the territory.

The Prefectures do:

• they transmit orders from the central system,
• manage emergencies (real or invented),
• control local institutions,
• align anyone who comes to power,
• and ensure that no one “steps out of line.”

Most Italians don’t even notice.

Yet everything passes through there.

The ritual that no one sees: the newly elected mayor ‘meets’ the Prefect.

It’s a scene that happens everywhere, every year, in every municipality in Italy.

A newly elected mayor — perhaps a good person, perhaps truly convinced that they can change something — enters the Prefect’s office. 

We have half an hour left.

It comes out perfectly aligned.

No shouting or blackmail is needed.

A few very clear “sweet words” are enough:

• a nod to constraints,
• to margins of action,
• to “balances that must not be touched,”
• to the “responsibilities” of the role.

Result:

• revolutionary enthusiasm fades in 30 minutes.

The dress rehearsal: the pandemic

We saw it live during the pandemic farce.

Mayors of all political colors, all lined up like toy soldiers:

• absurd ordinances,
• drones,
• threats,
• sheriff-style social media live streams,
• chasing grandparents out for some fresh air,
• fining kids sitting on a bench.

They seemed more zealous than the government.

More ferocious than the central state.

Ready to do anything to prove their “obedience” to the higher-ups.

The pandemic was the perfect test to show:

• how deeply the prefectures control the territories,
• and how quickly mayors, after a few “kind words,” become faithful executors.

Elections: controlled by the same structure

Every Italian election — all of them — is managed by the prefectures:

• lists
• ballots
• minutes
• counts
• recounts
• final certifications

Everything goes through them.

And above all:

The system uses Smartmatic, the company known around the world for anomalies, glitches, and fraud.

Wherever Smartmatic appears, there are:

• irregularities,
• opaque counts,
• “strange” results.

And in Italy, it is perfectly integrated into the electoral system.

The booth is yours.

The result goes through them. But now something is cracking. And here comes the real earthquake.

Italians have understood. And they are stopping playing the game.

Round after round, turnout is plummeting:

• we are close to 60% abstention.

Who still goes to vote?

Politicians, their relatives, those who live off the system, those who benefit from the status quo.

The others?

They have woken up.

They have realized that voting:

• changes nothing,
• has no impact on power,
• only serves to legitimize a machine that represents no one.

The “right to vote” has become a scam of perception:

• they make you believe you are deciding, while the game is already written.

This is why abstention is not disaffection:

• it is silent resistance.

The people are not giving up on democracy.

They are rejecting the farce.

They are taking away from the system what it fears most:

• legitimacy.
